Shared Charter: Abacos Dream Premium

A shared, aka “Cabin Charter”, is an excellent way to enjoy a sailing vacation in Nassau, Bahamas and the Exumas on a fully crewed yacht charter without the cost of renting the entire yacht.

A one week itinerary brings you to the infamous islands and anchorages that the Bahamas is known for, and also gives the crew the opportunity to show you some of the gorgeous off-the-beaten-path spots. You’ll enjoy sailing, snorkeling and swimming, beach combing, and if you’d like more activity there are plenty of opportunities for hiking and exploring ashore and rendezvous scuba diving or fishing charter. If a quiet vacation with a book is your ideal vacation, on board a catamaran you’ll find plenty of outdoor lounging areas that are perfect for relaxing. Typical Abacos Itinerary

Day 1: Saturday (Marsh Harbour)
Boarding at 6:00pm. Dinner and over night onboard in Conch Inn & Marina.

Day 2: Sunday (Marsh Harbour – Great Guana Cay)
We will gently cruise toward Great Guana Cay where we will drop anchor off a lovely cay in Fishers Bay. Great Guana is the home of the world famous Nippers Bar with its equally famous Sunday hog roast as well as Grabbers Bar and Grill. Set with a backdrop of a beautiful Atlantic long white beach, Great Guana Cay is perfect for taking long walks and those iconic white sand beach shots that grace the pages of glossy travel magazines. Beach combing, snorkeling, diving (with extra charge) or just walking along the beach – there is something for everyone.

Day 3: Monday (Great Guana Cay – Man-O-War)
After lunch we will set off to Man-O-War which is listed in National Geographic’s Top 10 beaches in the World! The sand is incredible. It also has every convenience one could desire including excellent bars and restaurants as well as a golf course.

Day 4: Tuesday (Man-O-War – Hope Town)
In the morning we set sail for Hope Town. Hope Town is a sleepy, but prosperous and beautifully maintained settlement. Visit the shops for purchasing t-shirts and Man-O-War souvenir sail bags The Albury family, famous for their Bahamian work boats and boat building, continue to build both small and large vessels in the town. Snorkeling can be found on the north ocean side of the island, a 15-minutes walk.

Day 5: Wednesday (Hope Town – Little Harbour)
On the way stop at Sandy Cay National Park. Because we use shallow draft catamarans you are able to step off the boat and wade through crystal blue waters onto Sandy Cay National Park, have lunch and snorkel for a couple of hours. After lunch, sail up to Little Harbour, which is one of the most picturesque harbours in the Bahamas. Little Harbour is a charming settlement with a selection of art galleries, shops, restaurants, historic museums and homes.

Day 6: Thursday (Little Harbour – Tahiti Beach)
Get up early so we can sail down to Tahiti Beach, South of Abaco, to find our own secluded island. Spend the day lying on the beach or snorkeling the reefs with its abundance of sea. There is nothing like having an island all to yourself. Spend your early evening drinking cocktails while watching the sunset.

Day 7: Friday (Tahiti Beach – Matt Lowe’s Cay – Marsh Harbour)
A delicious breakfast and we head back toward Marsh Harbour stopping at Matt Lowe’s Cay. We enjoy swimming in the Sea of Abaco before heading back to Conch Inn Marina for dinner and then perhaps celebrating our fantastic week with the local people while listening to local bands nearby.

Day 8: Saturday (Marsh Harbour)
After breakfast, we swap emails and photos and we send you home with great memories and anticipation for your next sailing vacation. Disembarkation at 8:00 am.

Included

• Standard Cabin mid-ship in a double cabin with private bathroom
• Superior Cabin Upgrade when available to a slightly larger forward or back / aft cabin
• Air conditioning in service from 8am to 10pm to reduce noise overnight.
With consent of all passengers, A/C will be operated overnight as well.
• Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Note: Special diets such as vegetarian, pescetarian, and vegan may incur an additional fee. A fee will be incurred based on the expense to accommodate the special diet and is determined once the dietary restrictions form is completed.
