Discover Highbourne Cay as part of your Nassau boat charter trip. Explore and swim at this stunning, uninhabited beach. Snorkel around Highbourne Cay and its beautiful reefs, including the impressive “Octopus Garden” reef. Also, this is a great area for collecting seashells, especially Sand Dollars. After snorkeling, take a short dinghy ride to visit Allen’s Cay to feed the Bahamian Iguanas. They are a protected species that congregate on one beach in the Exumas and love to eat fresh grapes! Highbourne Cay also has a small store with gifts and crafts for sale, and there is also a fantastic open-air bar and restaurant with stunning views of the surrounding area and sunsets.

The protected coves serve as a perfect home for lobster, conch, sea turtles, and a variety of other marine life. Take a tender ride up the mangrove river to a stunning viewpoint named Camp Driftwood. The views from the water and the hilltop are truly breathtaking. There are great opportunities for paddle boarding, tubing, kayaking, and snorkeling, or take a dinghy ride to the horseshoe sand bar when the tide is low.

Discover one of the best quality reefs in the Exumas on your Nassau yacht charter vacation. This site has some of the healthiest coral formations you will see anywhere in the Bahamas. Years ago, a Jeep was ‘placed’ on the reef, hence the name “Jeep Reef.” It has since been encrusted with coral, but the Jeep can still be seen through the growth.

Moor your Nassau boat charter at Warderick Wells, the headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park – the largest underwater sea park in the Caribbean. It has a small gift shop and multiple walking trails with information stops, giving visitors valuable history and nature lessons on the local flora and fauna. There are also several secluded beaches sprinkled throughout the island, which are perfect spots for some relaxing sunbathing or a refreshing swim. When the tide goes out, large sandbars become exposed and are just waiting to be explored.

Anchor your Nassau, Bahamas yacht charter on the lee side of Big Majors Cay in beautifully calm, shallow waters. It is very common for nurse sharks and huge rays to visit once the anchor is set. Don’t miss the opportunity to feed the ‘social media famous’ swimming pigs. This is a fun activity and makes for some hilarious photo possibilities. It is typically a 30-minute visit and leaves plenty of time for snorkeling and diving, other water sports, time to relax, etc. Dine at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, and experience the local cuisine. This is a charming marina made famous in numerous music videos and is always vibrant and friendly.

The site is well-known for its colorful heads of coral and abundant sea life. Norman’s Cay is famous for being used by the drug kingpin, Carlos Lehder (associate of Pablo Escobar) as a base of operation in the 1980s. One of his planes crashed into the ocean and remains there to this day, and it is now a great snorkeling site where you can explore the sunken ruins and an array of colorful tropical fish and vibrant coral. Norman’s Cay has beautiful, long, uncrowded beaches perfect for sunbathing and relaxing, and lots of areas of the island are also good for exploring.
