    Cruising Area

Did you like the area you chartered in?
It is my 3rd time chartering out of Grenada and it will be my last. I do love it there, but the customs is really terrible. The government there needs to do something about it. The customs officials are terribly rude, and show up not just a little late, but ridiculously so. We bailed on checking out of Grenada to sail to the grenadines after waiting for customs to show up. It is a 5 hour sail to Carriacou, so by 10 am you really need to get underway. We got to customs at 8 am (the stated opening time) and waited for 2 hours for no one to show up. the sailors on the dock told us it is even worse in Carriacou. Since we only had a week on the boat it is just too much time wasted waiting. We did spend one night at anchor in Chatham bay (under quarantine flag) and were boarded and robbed by locals at 4 am on our depart day…. so that inda sealed the deal on never going back.
