We hope your charter lived up to your expectations and we are eager to have your evaluation and impressions of your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

    1. Were the staff at The Moorings friendly and accommodating?
    Yes – staff was great

    2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes, and sound device (horn) – also split in swim platform hose leaked water into boat & ran under rear cabin floors.

    3. Was the yacht’s cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
but missing kitchen knives, BBQ tongs, Spatula and can opener- added later in our trip when we returned to base for our covid test.

    4. Was the boat well ventilated?
    Yes

    5. Did the staff at The Moorings do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
    Yes

    6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes but BVI restricted quarantined boats to the worst rolling anchorages.

    7. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?
Help us with planning our next trip to Belize next year

    8. May we post this review on our website?
    Yes

    9. Additional comments on your charter?
The boat was fine, though Moorings forgot to provide kitchen knives, spatula, tongs for the BBQ, and a can opener, and a sound (horn) device. We did not notice these things missing from our galley until the first day out. When we came back to base for our 2nd COVID test they added these items. We did have one issue with the boat, partly our fault. The swim shower hose was split. We did not see this at check out and our first hour out we left the water pump on. Lost 100 gallons into the lazerett. It mixed with diesel someone before us must have overfilled the tank and spilled some diesel back there. This ran down below the engine and under the rear cabin floors. Fortunately, our 2nd water tank was OK and we had plenty of water and never forgot to turn off the water pump when underway after that time. We sponged out as much of the oily smelly flood under the rear cabins as we could. This water and diesel mix did not or could not, for some reason, run down to the midship bilge pump. I think this is partly due to the design of these boats with flat bottoms and manufactured with floor grids that separate the sections. Moorings fixed the shower hose when we returned to base for our 2nd COVID test. Other than that, the boat was fine and the steady 18 to 20 knots of wind provided us with good sailing days. We did miss seeing some of the land sites and the anchorages allowed to quarantined boats were not the best (a bit rolly) but we still enjoyed the sailing.
