Please answer the following questions pertaining to the charter company and the yacht you chartered.
Rating of Charter Company & Yacht: 2
Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Very friendly but very distracted and not very helpful. We waited for 3 hours in the lobby of Moorings. When I asked for the third time if our boat was ready, they seemed surprised that I was asking (even though my family and I had been sitting in front of them for hours) and told me that the boat was suddenly ready. We had walked the docks out of sheer boredom and made our guess which boat was ours. Nothing had changed with the boat – nothing. Why were we not allowed aboard?
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Julian ran our checkout. We were told he’d meet us at the boat at 8:30. After numerous inquiries with staff, at 10:00 am he finally showed up and was frustrated with how delayed the previous boat had made him. He is a super nice guy but his check out was fast and furious.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
It was announced that the water maker suddenly didn’t work and to just save our receipts if we needed water. We spent the money on a larger boat BECAUSE it had a water maker. The convenience we were paying for with this amenity was avoiding the hassle of stopping every couple of days and having the freedom to go wherever.

Incidentally, we discovered from Suzy Cimarolli Hammond that she had the boat the week before us with the exact same issue. Moorings told her to save her receipts, and they’d reimburse her. She hasn’t even heard from them let alone received reimbursement.

Upon check-in, I informed the Moorings team of the water maker issue. They did not apologize or respond other than, “Well, did you have to pay for water? Just give me your receipts.”
Was the yacht’s cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Cooking equipment was fine. We were not offered any cleaning equipment other than a hand broom.
    Was the yacht well ventilated?
    Yes.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
We won’t be using Moorings again. Unimpressive.
