      Charter Company & Yacht
Please answer the following questions pertaining to the charter company and the yacht you chartered.
Rating of Charter Company & Yacht: 4
Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
We only met Jose Bernard, but see my comment below.
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Jose Bernard was friendly, professional, and gave a very complete boat and chart briefing.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yacht was clean. Several comments about the yacht. 1) Jose suggested I keep the traveler centered, and I found out later that the traveler winch could not move the traveler car without tripping the breaker. This was disappointing because it limited mainsail trim options. 2) The dinghy was a terrible choice for this boat. Since the dinghy had a center console steering, you could only take 6 people at one time. Fortunately, that was our crew complement, but the usual crew size of 8 would be frustrated with multiple trips to deposit crew ashore. 3) Boom furling on the mainsail was nice when it worked, but if the boltrope cover frayed, then the main could not be raised. We sailed the last 2 days under jib only. Jose is going to replace the mainsail with a standard stack-pack and lazy jacks this summer. That aside – The rest of the equipment ex: windlass, winches (except traveler), electronics, engines, generator, watermaker all worked well.
Was the yacht’s cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
      Yes
      Was the yacht well ventilated?
      Yes
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
      See above.
      Cruising Area

Did you like the area you chartered in?
Yes, but be careful of overcrowding at with local boats at Culabrita and Isla Palamino over the weekend, but you can plan around this!
Would you like to share your itinerary or a vacation highlight with us?
We anchored at Vieques (Green beach, Esperanza, Playa La Chiva), and visited black beach, Esperanza, Bio Bay (Mosquito bay)). We also anchored at Culebra (Esperanza Hondo – 2 nights) and visited Dewey, Playa Flamenco, and Playa Carlos Rosario. We anchored for 1 night at Culebrita and visited the beach, lighthouse, and Piscinas Naturales. Our final night was spent on a mooring at Melones Beach. We were fortunate that winds were generally from the east and we didn’t get any north or south swell.
