If you want to sail several hours – you got it! If you want to swim and snorkel a lot – absolutely! If you want to island hop to the local bars – no problem mon! The itinerary is completely flexible and you are not on a schedule.
Here are some additional details about these two types of charters to assist you in making your selection.
Private All-Inclusive Crewed Charter
With a Private All-Inclusive Crewed charter, a professional crew team of a captain and chef will cater to your every need.
The Crewed Yacht charter price includes everything on board from meals and bar to running expenses, and each crewed yacht is equipped with variety of popular water toys.
Here are the services that are included in the price of a crewed yacht charter (which are not included as part of a Captain Only Charter):
- Meal planning & shopping: The chef creates a personalized gourmet menu based on your preferences and most yachts can accommodate special diets, with the bar being also stocked based on your preferences.
- Meal preparation & presentation: The chef will prepare all meals including snacks, appetizers and desserts. You will also be impressed with the incredible presentations of the food and table settings.
- Hostess service, including mixologist and barista throughout the day.
- Crew team handle all aspects of operating the yacht. You don’t need to lift a finger.
- Yacht cleaning including cabins, bathrooms & linen changes.
- Guided snorkeling, water toys and scuba on yachts that have scuba equipment. The crew is happy to give water toy lessons for those feeling adventurous, and tow guests on inflatable toys with the dinghy.
In addition to these services, there are also many little details that are possible with a crewed team.
The price of a Private All-Inclusive charter can range greatly due to the variety of yacht sizes and ages. A common price range is $3,000 – $4,000/person/week for 6-8 guests and $4,000 – $6,000/person/week for 2-4 guests.
However, there are a few yachts that will be less expensive than this common range and of course, a lot of yachts that are more expensive. The recommended crew gratuity is 15% – 20% of the charter fee.
Private Captain Only Charter
With a Private Captain Only charter, an experienced captain will sail you around the islands and ensure the safety of the yacht and guests.
You would provision the yacht to have meals on board that you will cook and/or have meals at the many different restaurants at your destination. You will be responsible for meal planning, cooking, provisioning, cleaning and for the cost of consumables and running expenses.
Also, there may be additional fees with the captain only charter, that you may be responsible for in addition to the charter fee.
These which may include:
- Meals/beverages on board for your group & captain
- Dinners ashore
- Overnight moorings
- Fuel, ice & water
- Cruising taxes, permits & customs fees if applicable
- On a Bareboat Charter with a hired captain, the captain fee and yacht insurance are not included in the charter fee
The price of a Private Captain Only charter can also range due to the variety of yacht sizes and ages, and also varies by season (unlike most crewed yachts.) A common price range is $1,500 – $2,500/person/week for 6-8 guests and $3,000 – $4,000/person/week for 2-4 guests. The recommended captain gratuity is 15% – 20% of the charter fee.
