Capt. Hugh O’Brien is a seasoned sailor with an impressive 36 years of experience in competitive sailing and ocean racing.
His extensive background in sailing includes obtaining his Royal Yachting Association (RYA) YachtMaster 500 Ton Sail & Power Commercial License in 2002 and captaining and cooking on boats in various locations such as the Cayman Islands, Virgin Islands, USA, and Japan.
Additionally, he ran 5-Star Sailing with a 50 ft Beneteau Sloop in the Virgin Islands from 2007 to 2011.
From 2018 to 2022, he owned and operated Ocean Star 60, a 60-foot Beneteau sloop, and is now partnering with Chef Vivi on Serena. With his wealth of experience and diverse background, Capt. Hugh O’Brien is a valuable asset to the sailing and yachting industry.
Chef Vivi, also known as Vivianne Swietelsky, is a culinary mastermind based in Water Island, USVI, and Coconut Grove, Miami. Her expertise lies in creating authentic interpretations of the world’s greatest cuisines, with her signature fusion being MediterrAsian cuisine.
Alongside her amazing desserts and inspired cocktail creations, Chef Vivi brings a wealth of experience and a diverse cultural background to her culinary artistry. Born to Italian and Venezuelan parents, she learned to cook instinctually from the heart, and has since traveled to various countries, becoming fluent in five languages and attending different culinary schools.
With a background in Hospitality Management from Florida International University’s School of Hospitality & Tourism, she has excelled as a restaurant pastry chef, owned an upscale Miami catering company, and worked as a private chef in both private homes and on charter yachts.
Chef Vivi’s love for sailing and her ASA Offshore Sailing Certificate has led her to work on many sailboats, and she has added luxe touches to Yacht Serena, which she co-owns with Captain Hugh.
