Growing up sailing and boating on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay, Captain Jack always knew that a traditional lifestyle wasn’t for him. So, in 2015, he set out to make his dreams a reality by signing on as crew to a traditional sailing ship and embarking on a life-changing voyage across the ocean.
Since then, Jack has obtained his captain’s license, captained multiple modern and classic sailing yachts, and traveled up and down the east coast of the U.S. and to the Caribbean. And now, he is ready to share his passion and expertise with you.
Imagine sailing on the clear blue waters of the Caribbean, feeling the wind in your hair and the sun on your face. Or diving into the crystal-clear sea for an unforgettable snorkeling adventure. With Capt. Jack Maher, the possibilities are endless.
But sailing is just the beginning! In his free time, Jack enjoys windsurfing, cycling, and yoga, and he is passionate about creating memorable charter experiences through water sports and hiking.

Chef Sidney is the chef who has taken the world by storm with her creative and innovative approach to cooking.
Sidney’s love for cooking started at a young age in a small town in Minnesota. With humble beginnings, she learned the value of fresh food and the joy of experimenting with various ingredients. In her house, recipes were merely suggestions, and there were no such things as mistakes. Cooking was about spending time with family and exploring new tastes.
As Sidney grew older, she ditched school with her friends, not to indulge in mischief, but rather to cook up a storm in the kitchen. Her ability to go beyond conventional rules and guidelines enabled her to experiment and create meals that left her friends speechless.
At just 19, Sidney began her journey of discovering the world. She found herself drawn to sailing and soon became a master sailor with over 10,000 offshore nautical miles under her belt. During one of her voyages, Sidney’s skills as a chef were put to the test when the designated cook fell through.
Without hesitation, Sidney stepped up to the challenge and delivered mouth-watering meals to her hungry crew. Cooking in a leaky galley with a half-broken stove did not deter her from giving her crew the sustenance they needed to carry on with their journey.
Today, Sidney is living proof that you can turn your passions into your profession. She continues to cook and sail, creating delicious meals on high-end charters while living life to the fullest. Exciting news! We have a new addition to the VI Sailing family and her name is Arden Chambers! Arden, who will be focusing on bareboat charters, is one of the most seasoned travel professionals you’ll ever come across and she’s here to take your yacht charter experience to the next level!
Starting off in her travel career, Arden cut her teeth at a top-tier luxury RV rental company. Her role there was all about helping the customers make unforgettable memories on their road trip vacations.
And with her eagle-eye for detail, Arden was the go-to person when it came to trip planning. You could say she’s a master of customized itineraries and planning excursions!
Having grown up surrounded by the beautiful waters of USVI and BVI, Arden has always had a special place in her heart for sailing. Her love for sailing started when she spent time out on the water with her dad on his 42′ Jeanneau… which he named after her!
It was where she fell in love with the art of sailing and the beauty of the people and the environment around her. Arden’s ASA bareboating certification and her recent bareboat chartered experience in the Florida Keys have only strengthened her knowledge and passion for the craft.
