The whole crew changed, and we were never informed. Apparently that crew was not very good… so it changed a 2nd time in the matter of 3 weeks leading up to the trip… but Simon and Marie were great. We had an absolute blast… but not going to lie- I was a little nervous 2 weeks prior to the trip.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Yes, they covered all the details of the charter and did a very good chart briefing
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Yes. I was already familiar with this kind of boat, but as always, I was able to learn a few things from Brandon who did the boat briefing.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Mostly yes. Right up front they told us that the autopilot was not working. There were a few other things that came up, but in general, the boat was in very good shape.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes. Well supplied with all the necessities
Was the yacht well ventilated?
Well ventilated, but there are nights when you wished there was more.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
HYC was very good, great people and a pleasure to work with. The boat was a 2018 model, and for that vintage it was in very good condition. Everything except for the autopilot worked well. By the way they credited us $500 for it being non functional.

Yes, we love the Windward Islands, particularly the Tobago Cays. We got some good itinerary and tips on anchoring locations from Brandon during the chart briefing.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
I would give them an 8.5 out of 10. They were not overly friendly but business like and well organized. They were not interested in getting to know us really, but they were not rude in the least. I would charter with them again.
They did reach out when we were underway to see how it was going.
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Yes- very thorough on all systems with one exception. I suggest not taking the boat out until you have raised the mainsail with the lazy jack system. This will save a lot of trouble as it can be tricky to raise the sail with the full battens.
I would also suggest that if you haven't used the latest B&G/Garmin chart plotter nav system to go online and run the free tutorial. This will save time.
One thing we were not made clear about- if there is an issue with the boat while underway they will walk you through the cure or come to you. We could have used this one time for the mainsail.

The port pilots are very skilled. They take the boat in and out of the slip for you. The space in the harbor is very tight and there is always wind. This is a great convenience.
