Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Yes
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
The boat briefer was young and inexperienced. He gave us some wrong information and was actually going to drive the boat away from the dock before the electric cables were removed. It would have been better to have had someone brief us who had actually sailed the boat.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes, although a throttle handle pulled off during the sail. This was probably due to salt corrosion. Also, two of the cabins did not have air conditioning, although that didn't bother us because we didn't use air conditioning.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Excellent. The best we've ever had.
Was the yacht well ventilated?
Yes
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
Generally very good. We got good information over the phone from the maintenance manager when we had questions or problems. He was also always available.

Did you like the area you chartered in?
Yes. It was a bit crowded, but the Boaty-Ball system really helped us to secure moorings. The snorkeling was great!

Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Dean and Yana were exceptional. This is my 3rd catamaran trip and they exceeded any captain or stew I’ve experienced. They are professional, fun and made the overall experience phenomenal!
Was the food good and well presented?
Yana is an amazing chef. The food was fantastic for every meal and her presentation skills were above and beyond.
8. Additional comments about the yacht and crew?
I’d recommend Dean and Yanna to anyone who is looking into a trip like this. The level of professionalism was outstanding. They are charismatic as well keeping it light and pleasurable at all times. The service and overall experience would not have been top notch without them.

Boat was in great condition and had lots of storage. Our captain, Ciarán Gibbons, was phenomenal and I highly recommend him. He was knowledgeable, flexible and safety-oriented. He also engaged well with all members of our group - adults and teens - and taught us (new and experienced charterers) about the boat and sailing.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?

Charter briefer not knowledgeable about rigging.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Clean. They acknowledged that the topping lift was mounted on the spin halyard, and not at the mast top. So we had to put in first reef. We tried to put in 2nd and 3rd reef but had to monkey with it to discover that there was no tack attachment for those reefs. It would have been nice for a person with rigging knowledge to let us know.

Only issue we had was an engine control malfunction on second to last day. I called 3 different people and they came out to our mooring at Peter Island and fixed it quickly. My boat phone received calls from office but the return calls from mechanics did not ring on my boat phone.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes.
Was the yacht well ventilated?
The fans did not have much speed throughout the boat, except for the forward cabin fans. But the A/C worked well.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
Everyone very polite at Navigare; that's why I charter from them. We had very few issues on this charter.

The TMM folks were very accommodating. Don’t know if they’re the best I’ve worked with but they’re certainly up there.
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Great briefing.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Lone Star is superbly equipped and in excellent working condition.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Excellent. No complaints.
Was the yacht well ventilated?
No complaints here.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
Again, the TMM team are pros. Lone Star’s handling is, well, quirky. Close quarters handling is complicated by the fact its rudders are forward of the screws. Never experienced that ever. And, while cats generally tend to have a bit of weather helm, owing likely to the further-aft position of the mast, Lone Star had a LOT of weather helm. You’ll get used to it but be prepared.
