Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
They were wonderful! Everything was explained clearly. Our grocery order was delayed and Patrice made multiple calls on our behalf to get us taken care of with Riteway.
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Yes, the tour was thorough especially regarding boat mechanical, etc. A bit better instruction regarding the appliances in the galley would have been helpful. (We had issues with the cooktop and oven b/c of a propane shutoff valve we were unaware of under the sink. Also one of the fridge drawers was misidentified as a freezer.) But overall, we were able to figure everything out with a few calls to Navigare technical support. Navigare technical support was exceptionally responsive, far better than any experience we have ever had chartering in the islands. They spent time diagnosing issues over the phone and expressed willingness to come to the yacht if needed.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
The yacht was very clean and everything was in great condition. This is a beautiful vessel with thoughtful design features for storage and comfort.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
The galley was well equipped, with most of the essentials. We really appreciated having a microwave and toaster, as well as full array of pots, pans and mixing bowls, etc. -- we used them every day. The small charcoal grill (18" diameter) attached to the rail however was undersized for the size (number of passengers) and caliber of this vessel. We were surprised by that since we had been told there was a decent sized propane grill. It was difficult grilling for 9 people on such a small grill. Grilling utensils were not provided.
Was the yacht well ventilated?
Yes, inside the cabins and salon. The AC on generator worked like a dream!! A few small fans in the cockpit area would've been a great addition.

Did you like the area you chartered in?
The BVI's are amazing. Every stop from Cane Garden Bay to the Bitter End to Norman Island was uniquely special. The Pirate's Bight restaurant/beach resort in the Bight was wonderful and unexpected (new since our past visits). It was the perfect last stop of our charter.

This was my third booking through VI Sailing. I like the convenience of having an experienced partner check availability on boats through multiple charter companies and provide a condensed list to select from. It’s also good to have a representative working for me that knows the performance and reliability of the charter companies as well as the individual boats.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
The staff at BVI Yacht Charters are awesome. The office staff and dock crew were all top notch. .
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
The boat briefing was very thorough. It was very obvious that he personally did a lot of maintenance on our particular boat and knew the systems very well
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
The boat was in very good condition. Especially considering it’s a 4 year old charter boat. We had two minor problems while on charter which the maintenance crew made a chase run for and resolved the problems quickly. My only disappointment was that the watermaker was not functioning. I understand that watermakers are fickle and are not guaranteed. It’s not a big deal and would not in any way affect my decision to charter this boat again.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes
Was the yacht well ventilated?
The air conditioning and fans worked great every night. This model cat does not have great natural ventilation and would benefit from wind scoops on the hatches if not running the A/C.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
This is my second trip with BVIYC. The company has done a great job on both trips. This boat was awesome for our crew of 8. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. I would have liked two more fenders for docking. The 4 provided were adequate but I like to have roving fenders to pad the corners in case we’re approaching or leaving a dock at a steep angle. The dinghy was one of the best we’ve had on a charter boat. It was in good shape and the 15hp Yamaha engine was rock solid. Our crew of 8 did overload it so we always made two trips. It would have been nice to have the next size up but that may have been too big to fit between the hulls and go on the davits.

Fantastic! Chef Maya really cares about everything food and drink related. From presentation, taste, individual preferences, the cuisine was fantastic. Captain Doyle even landed some bonito and Maya filleted and presented for appetizers.

Captain Doyle and Chef Maya were fantastic! Very accommodating, great suggestions for excursions, and fantastic tour guides around the BVIs.

Yes, every day Robin and James did an excellent job of cleaning and ensuring we were comfortable

Yes, bathrooms were damp, but window made it better
Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Ver much so. Can’t say enough about James and Robin. They were incredible. From the start of the trip they put us at ease about our itinerary and any concern we had.
They got along great with everyone on our trip and hope they come visit in Dallas!
Was the food good and well presented?
The food was excellent. Robin did a great job of creating a diverse and creative menu for every meal that was delicious.
The meal the last night was unforgettable!
