We were not received at the marina by anyone. Very difficult to reach someone to help us figure out which boat we had etc..
No radio/music on the boat was extremely disappointing.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Yes
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
As much as can be expected. The cat is more complex than past charters so more information.
I recommend the charter company use a checklist for information to be given. For example, there are three battery banks, three methods of charging, and two gauges. I could not get a clear description of which gauge indicates which, and which charger charges which.
They have a checklist of what is on the boat.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes. and it was a new boat.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?

Was the yacht well ventilated?

Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
Sylvie was great.
The generator and the water maker stopped working during the charter. The generator was due to a clogged filter that we cleaned out. However, getting guidance from base required going through a couple of people.
Possibly the same issue with the water maker. We cleaned the filter, but the boat did not have the tool needed to re-install. We had to go through the right person to get support, and that occurred two days later when we were close to their base.

Tintamarre was nice. Rolly as an overnight but great beach and walking/exploring.
Information is fluid. We stayed in Crocus Bay though being told it was closed. The immigration office had a sign on the wall that is was closed, but they told us that it was open, and why.
Prickly Pear is a good day trip.
Grand Case is nice, but beach is badly eroded and 20% of buildings are derelict.
Marigot is only worth a stop if the town is open or there is an event. Otherwise.

Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Yes
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Again - miscommunication and poor information. We were told that the skipper would not come aboard until Saturday morning, and that someone at the base would give our boat briefing on Friday afternoon upon our arrival. Turns out, unknown to us, the skipper had been waiting for us most of the afternoon on Friday (see previous comments). The skipper then gave us a partial boat briefing. No staff involved. I had to figure out how to get the propane flowing for the stove (and a few other things) so that we could eat aboard Friday night.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes clean, but NO to good working condition: 1. The batteries on this boat were basically dead. They could not hold a charge overnight. Skipper had to run the generator most of the evenings so that we could have enough power until the following day. 2. Except for the two short docklines that were thrown aboard from the dock, WE HAD NO LINES ABOARD. As a sailor myself, I know what a danger it is to sail without sufficient lines aboard that can be used for all kinds of situations. 3. The air conditioning thermostats did not function. The AC was either full blast or off.

Lack of attention to correct information, lack of attention to important yacht attributes such as fresh batteries and plenty of lines will prevent me from using VI sailing and SunSail again. I have had much better experience with the so called "second tier" charter companies. On the positive side, our skipper (vincent) was great throughout the whole trip.

Additional comments about working with the VI Sailing team to plan your vacation?
Communication between VI and Sunsail was apparently not good. Information that I was given was incorrect. For example, on three separate phone calls and emails I asked if the boat included WiFi. I was told "yes" by VI, then I was told "no" by VI, then I was told by VI I had to walk to a vendor in town to rent Wifi equipment. When I got to the boat, I paid an extra $150 for Sunsail to rent me a Wifi modem (they had it at the base). Then when I got on board the boat, a Wifi connection popped up under the boat name (apparently it had Wifi onboard all along). A sencond example, our group's flight came in at 2:00 but we were told the boat would not be available until 6:00. After waiting around for 4 hours we went to the boat only to learn that our hired skipper had been waiting for us since 2:00 !!! These are just two of several examples of miscommunication and difficulty in ascertaining accurate info.

Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
The boat was in great shape, very clean. the crew stepped in and kept the boat clean and picked up the whole trip! perfect
Was the yacht well ventilated?
yes the crew kept the rooms nice and cool! made for very comfortable, showering, sleeping etc.
Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
We could not have been any happier! Kennin the captain went beyond our expectations to make sure our drinks were full and our comfort was concern #1.
Stephine's meals were off the hook. she made us feel like we were at home the entire time!
Was the food good and well presented?
Unbelievable! off the hook! every morning the crew was up way before we were making sure the coffee was hot when we came up. the breakfast were way more then we could have expected! now were close to a continental breakfast.
I can't even begin to explain the flavor, the presentation was amazing. table was set to perfection, napkin folding was always fun to see. I just can't say enough how great it was.
We had one of our people that had a aversion to spicy. Stephine made him a seperater version of the same thing we all had to make sure he was happy. she took some food allergies for others and designed the menu around them. again off the hook! I would put her up against some of the best chiefs !
