Upon arrival and during your charter, were the staff of the charter company friendly and accommodating?
Yes, they made sure we had our paper work in order
Did the staff do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
It felt rushed. Would have liked an in person area briefing to ask questions. Also better info on boat specs particularly the draft of the boat would have been nice to have in the package.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes. Water in tanks smelled strongly of sulfur - not sure why? Only issue with the boat
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes
Was the yacht well ventilated?
Yes

Yes

Not as good as in the past.
Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes and no.

The yacht was in good working condition; some of the main sheets (ropes) were a little worn for a boat less than a year old.

The interior seemed clean but I found a blood smear in my bathroom. I was very upset to find that under all the exterior cusions was hair and grime from previous boat; staff had not lifted cusions. I had to clean this. I informed the front desk who were very apologetic and offered a cleaner but we declined due to full boat of people and provisions.
Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
Yes.
Was the yacht well ventilated?
Very well ventilated.
Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
The yacht was great and the charter company staff are very pleasant just very slow at dealing with any requests such as missing bedding etc.

We missed our Moorings welcome bag and bottle of rum! But NOT an important issue!

Additional comments about the charter company and yacht you chartered?
The mooring lines were too short and thus difficult to moor. The steering was stiff and the auto-pilot could not hold course, otherwise it was a great boat I would like to book again. The Lucia 40 is almost as efficient as a 44 footer.

The ac was awesome!
Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
They were really spectacular! I have too many compliments and not enough space! I can’t imagine chartering with anyone else.
Was the food good and well presented?
Sy and Kara were so great at accommodating our dietary restrictions! They were attentive to every detail of the food presentation from the amazing cocktails and appetizers to dessert! They researched my daughter’s diet and made food specifically for her! We’ve never had a vacation where she felt so healthy! Thank you so much!
8. Additional comments about the yacht and crew?
Sy and Kara helped make memories for our family that will last a lifetime. They were warm and friendly and were more like family than crew. We always felt well taken care of with them. Sy and Kara were wonderful to us. Kara’s knowledge of the ocean and marine life was phenomenal. She taught us so much! Sy was a great captain and amazing chef. His knowledge and experience as a captain kept us feeling secure and safe!

Did you like the area you chartered in?
Sy and Kara took us to the most beautiful spots to anchor. The snorkeling was, without a doubt, the best we’ve ever experienced. The hikes they set up for us were really just spectacular and the views from the top of each cliff were breathtaking. We got to float on a salt pond. We swam with sea turtles and watched Kara catch a lobster!

I believe that in the yacht description a water maker was part of the equipmant on board
Upon arrival we found out that Happy Ours is not equipped with a water maker
Not a deal breaker but I believe that info should be corrected
Cruising Area
Did you like the area you chartered in?
Yes USVI is a beautiful area to sail however we were hoping to sail To BVI
Upon arrival to Compass Point Marina we found out that US charters are not allowed to go over to BVI
That was a bit disappointing but we still enjoyed sailing around St John And St Thomas
Hope that those restrictions will change in the future

Definitely going back to the islands
Bare boat charter is the way to go for our family
Hopefully we will be able to go back there next June
