We had such an amazing adventure and experience on Yes Dear. Captain Kyle is very experienced, knowledgeable and professional. He knows the islands well and took us to beautiful coves and beaches where we could hike, swim, lounge, snorkel, and play watersports. His itinerary was perfect! His first mate / best mate Nicola is an amazing chef and even better person. She prepared/served delicious meals throughout the week that exceeded our expectations and made our experience so comforting, relaxing and enjoyable. Kyle taught our 7 year old daughter how to wakeboard, blow the conch shell and our whole family new fun games to play. We are so grateful for the opportunity to sail / travel with such an amazing crew on an awesome catamaran. VI Sailing made it easy to book, had us well prepared, connected and ready to travel. We look forward to sailing again soon!

9. Additional comments on your charter?
We always have a good experience using the Moorings for our island jaunts. While some of the issues with the platform and A/C were frustrating, they were minor frustrations, and were quickly resolved by a very responsive customer service team. We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting the various islands of the BVIs even with the complications of quarantining due to COVID-19. We’ll be back!

1. Were the staff at The Moorings friendly and accommodating?
Yes - staff was great

2. Was the yacht clean and in good working condition?
Yes, and sound device (horn) - also split in swim platform hose leaked water into boat & ran under rear cabin floors.

3. Was the yacht's cooking and cleaning equipment sufficient?
but missing kitchen knives, BBQ tongs, Spatula and can opener- added later in our trip when we returned to base for our covid test.

4. Was the boat well ventilated?
Yes

5. Did the staff at The Moorings do a good job familiarizing you with the yacht and its equipment?
Yes

6. Did you like the area you cruised?
Yes but BVI restricted quarantined boats to the worst rolling anchorages.

9. Additional comments on your charter?
The boat was fine, though Moorings forgot to provide kitchen knives, spatula, tongs for the BBQ, and a can opener, and a sound (horn) device. We did not notice these things missing from our galley until the first day out. When we came back to base for our 2nd COVID test they added these items. We did have one issue with the boat, partly our fault. The swim shower hose was split. We did not see this at check out and our first hour out we left the water pump on. Lost 100 gallons into the lazerett. It mixed with diesel someone before us must have overfilled the tank and spilled some diesel back there. This ran down below the engine and under the rear cabin floors. Fortunately, our 2nd water tank was OK and we had plenty of water and never forgot to turn off the water pump when underway after that time. We sponged out as much of the oily smelly flood under the rear cabins as we could. This water and diesel mix did not or could not, for some reason, run down to the midship bilge pump. I think this is partly due to the design of these boats with flat bottoms and manufactured with floor grids that separate the sections. Moorings fixed the shower hose when we returned to base for our 2nd COVID test. Other than that, the boat was fine and the steady 18 to 20 knots of wind provided us with good sailing days. We did miss seeing some of the land sites and the anchorages allowed to quarantined boats were not the best (a bit rolly) but we still enjoyed the sailing.

We hope your charter lived up to your expectations. We would love to know some of your impressions about your yachting vacation. Please answer the following questions and add any comments you may have.

1. Was the crew friendly and accommodating?
Yes. Extremely. The captain (Paul) went above and beyond to take excursions, care for seniors, share information and give us unique experiences.

2. Was the yacht comfortable and clean?
The layout was extremely comfortable. Upper deck was a great place to be during sailing trips and at night. Yacht was clean initially but the dining area was not maintained during the week. Food crumbs stayed on the deck throughout the trip.

3. Was the yacht well ventilated?
The air conditioning went out Day 3. Paul (captain) tried to troubleshoot and fix but was unable to and there was not anyone who was able to come and address at port. Paul was very concerned and gracious dealing with a stressful situation. He anchored and moored in bays that caught a night breeze. We were fortunate that we experienced little rain and temperatures were moderate, otherwise it could have been uncomfortable. Not ideal for our senior parents in their 80's.

4. Was the food good and well presented?
Yes. The food was excellent. Fresh, well prepared, flavorful and a nice presentation.

5. Did you like the area you sailed?
Absolutely 100%. Paul's selection of routes and coves were exceptional and enjoyable whether it be sailing, hiking, or snorkeling.

6. Could we at Virgin Island Sailing, Ltd. have helped you further in any way?

7. May we post this review on our website?
Yes

8. Additional comments on your charter?
Towels were not replenished or maintained. We were all given one towel each for the entire trip. There were 5 beach towels for 7 people. One was used to wipe up coffee and we had to continue to use throughout the trip. Paul's selection of activities, attention, care and fun personality rate a 5. Food and culinary experience is a 4-5 along with Ramona. Physical boat 2-3 because of the air conditioning going out.
